Claudia M. Young

CLAUDIA M. YOUNG, Age 94, passed August 28th, 2016. Born in Maryland, raised in Mt. Clemens, MI. Beloved wife of the late Elgin; loving mother of Elgin, Jr. (Sharon), Brice (Suzanne), and Linda Lee; proud grandmother of Tracy (Michael) Heller and Beth (Fred) Sesler; great-grandmother of 3. Claudia is predeceased by siblings Evelyn Peake, Carl Grolz, Emily Kolbe and Bea Huhn. Claudia was devoted to and loved her family dearly. Her smile will be missed and she will be remembered for her thoughtful and generous heart and spirit. She worked as a physicians assistant ,a dental secretary and a legal secretary , for many years. She was a member of Lakeshore Presbyterian Church for over sixty years. She served as a Deacon, worked on the church paper, served in the clothing store, and started the Lake Shore Church pinochle card club. Cards were her greatest recreational passion. She was a resident of St. Clair Shores for over 60 years and then moved to American House East 1 in Roseville, MI for the past 3 & 1/2 years. She showed enormous strength surviving on hospice for almost two years. She had great pride in her appearance regardless of her weakness. It was remarkable how she dealt with day to day situations with her limited abilities but she had a strong unwavering faith. Her daughter was by her side at the time of her passing.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Shore Presbyterian Church located at 27801 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores, MI 48081
