Gerald Charles Wortman Jr., "Cappy” age 79, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022. Gerald was born April 18, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to his late parents Gerald C. Wortman Sr. and Vera E. Wortman nee Weinhold.
Cappy owned and operated Cappy's Records for many years which bought and sold classic vinyl records. He began collecting records at the age of 14 and continued well into his 70s as a lifelong collector. At the age of 15 he met his wife Kathleen and they married in 1964 and remained that way for 58 years. They made a home in Harper Woods for many years before moving to St. Clair Shores.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen; daughters Joyce Wortman, Jill (Larry) DuBay and Cynthia (Blaine) Boyer; grandchildren Meghan (Dione), Jay, Jacob, Michalyn, Noah, Madison, Lawrence and Kathleen; sister Theresa (the late Kurt) Devries; nephews Donnie (Jennifer) Gumm, the late Matthew Gumm and the late Jeffrey Gumm. Also left to cherish his memory are many loving relatives and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores.
