Harold H. Zimmerman was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 4, 1932, to Orville Zimmerman and Julia Holstein Zimmerman. After graduating from high school Harold was employed at the Coca-Cola company in Detroit, Michigan. He retired from Coca-Cola at the age of 65 in 1997. Harold resided with his older sister, the late Christine Zimmerman, until her death in 2007.
Harold and Christine enjoyed traveling aboard cruise ships and attending First Bethany Church and later Celtic Cross Church, where they made numerous friends with whom they enjoyed various activities, especially bowling.
In 2012 Harold moved into American House East in Sterling Heights where he found a new lease on life. He was a participant in many activities and made many friends there, especially amongst the wonderful staff, and continued to bowl with church friends for several years after.
On October 8, 2020, Harold passed away after a brief hospitalization due to complications from suffering a stroke.
Harold will be missed by his “Adopted” extended family of more than 50 years. He was always Uncle Harold to nieces Joan (Bill) Graham, Carolyn (Hugh) Mason, Maureen (Ken) Clinesmith and nephews Douglas (Valerie) Armour and the family of the late Bruce (Sharon) Armour, eight grand nieces and nephews, seven great-grand nephews and one great-grand niece.
Harold's remains will be interred beside his parents and sister at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
