Joseph was born to Joseph and Marian Spring in Cleveland, Ohio. He is predeceased by his parents and first wife, Marjorie, his sister Ellen, brother Jim and grandson, Ryan.
Joseph is the beloved husband of 29 years to Jennie Spring.

Joseph is a Navy Veteran who served on the USS Franklin D Roosevelt for 2 years.
He hired into the Chevrolet Parma, Ohio plant in 1972. While at Chevrolet Parma, he was active in UAW Local 1005, serving as Shop Chairman for a number of years.
He was then assigned to the UAW GM Department in Detroit, Michigan. His assignments included: Servicing Representative, Coordinator and Assistant Director to the Vice President of the UAW Department.
In Detroit he met his beloved wife, Jennie.
Joseph will lie in-state on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, beginning at 9:am until time of Mass at 10:00am, at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church located at 22412 Overlake Street, St Clair Shores, Michigan 48080.
Internment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
