Karl Heinz Puett

Karl Heinz Puett (Pütt), age 95, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018. Beloved husband of 55 years to the late Louise “Liesel” Puett; loving father to Wolfgang (Susan) Puett and Arthur (Kim) Puett; dear grandfather to Jennifer (Shawn) English and Kelly (Josh) Newman; cherished great-grandfather to Althea Newman, Evelyn Newman, and Caroline Newman; brother to Helmut (Eta) Pütt in Berlin; and uncle to Karin Pütt and Rita Pütt. Karl served his country during WWII as a Luftwaffe Pilot. He flew both the ME109 and the FW190D. He was very active as a sailor on Lake St. Clair and Lake Huron skippering his Catalina27, “Spielzeug.” He claimed 3rd place in the National Catalina Cup Competition hosted by the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2018 at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, MI.
