I met Lou in 1978 while playing football for Wilson Point Big Blue. His sidekick Alan Berrier was our head coach. The smile, my God his smile. We played a game at Fort Bragg at the end of the season. My only comment : The Toga party was a blast.  Great fun, great guy. Wish I could have spoken to him before his passing.

I knew Louie in 7th, 8th grade and we hung out some in HS.  I adored him!!!  We lived in Palos Heights, 1963 and one night he came to the house and played the piano for quite awhile.  When he left my parents were grinning from ear to ear....they absolutely fell in love with him that night.  I can still see them standing at our front door waving good bye to him with huge smiles on their faces!  My Mother asked about him constantly!  
That is just one memory, I am sure he blessed people like that continually throughout his life.
I am so sorry for your loss, I know he left a huge hole in your lives.

My memories of my cousin Louie are from years ago when our large Italian family was always in each other’s lives. I loved being around Aunt Grace and Uncle Min and Roxie, Tommy and Louie. Their house was full of laughter and music and great food!  As the years passed,  our lives took us far from each other, but never far from our hearts and minds. After hearing these comments from his friends I wish that I had been  around for the fun that seemed to follow Lou wherever he went!  I’m so happy he had such good people in his life, and mostly his wonderful Nancy to help him chart his course and set sail on so many adventures.  Louie, I wish you calm seas and splendid sunsets on your voyage! May we all meet again someday by God’s grace. Until then, I believe people go on living as long as they are loved. You will remain with us for a long time to come. 

Lou was one of the kindest men I have ever known.  All who knew him truly loved him and enjoyed being around him.  We will always cherish the blessing God provided to us forever which is all of the memories we have with you and Nancy.  We are praying for all who are hurting from the loss of you and especially your dear wife, Nancy.  Rest in peace in your eternal everlasting life our friend!  We will always love and miss you Lou Roberts! 

Butch and I are so saddened to hear of Lou’s passing. We have many fond memories of fun times with Lou and our JYC gang. 

My dearest friend Lou. Last boat ride and boat trip Sheila and I were ever on was when you and your darling wife Nancy invited us to one of the JYC outings after we sold our boat. You were always a perfect gentleman and loved by so many! If I am honored as even half the man you were my friend, I will feel as though my life had an impact! You are going to be missed by so many, because your outgoing personality made so many feel warm and comfortable. Jesus paid a HUGE price to make sure you as well as anyone else who believes in him will have eternal life and eternal peace. In my prayers I ask Jesus to meet you at those Golden Gates, and escort you home! Until we meet again my friend, may you rest in eternal peace. Love you man, Steven Bono

Hey brother Lou...I'll never forget the time I dragged you out to tour the Detroit sanitation plant...one of the best "hold your nose" adventures  we ever had, right?.... We afterwards had a  few...no, make that more than a few...adult beverages to celebrate our "stinky" adventure. I'll miss you Brother. Miss you a lot. Louie was a big part of my childhood along with all of the "cousins" . Every holiday, birthday, even occasions that weren't occasions they were all there.   I cherish those memories with all of my heart.

When I think of Lou, I picture him in his yellow rain suit fishing. It always made me smile. He looked so darn cute.  Bill and I will surely miss him . Our sincere condolences 🙏🏻🙏🏻

What sad news. I remember playing guitar as he played the piano a little. His laughter and the way he embraced life allowed each of us to laugh until we cried, roll our eyes at some of things he did and basically enjoy being alive. His spirit will be missed.
