

Marlene passed away April 30, 2017. She is survived by her devoted husband James, and her children Jeffrey Buck and Jill (Tom) James. Marlene predeceased by her parents Buster Estel Honaker and Amelia Louise Honaker (Page).
Marlene was born in Detroit and grew up with her brother Richard (Shirley) Honaker, and sisters Janice (Joe) Hall and Deborah (Duke) Freeman. Marlene worked at National Bank of Detroit, where she would meet her future husband James. On December 8, 1962 they were married at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in St. Clair Shores. She then became a full time homemaker.
Marlene was an avid bowler and golfer. She loved playing cards and traveling with her many friends. She was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers. She will be remembered and missed by her grandchildren Ben, Andy, Georgia, Owen and Alan.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a charitable donation to the Alzheimer’s Association:
Memorial Visitation will be in Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores Friday May 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 5 p.m. by Pastor Mark Hetzner from St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Eastpointe.
