Mary Gentile danced her last dance on August 27, 2015. She accomplished much and touched many hearts in her 84 years on earth. As a professional dancer Mary taught many to ballroom dance and enjoy music. As one of the first female private investigators in the state of Michigan she started and ran a successful investigations and process-serving business. But mostly Mary loved life and being with her family and friends.
She was born in Detroit Michigan to Pasquale and Guiseppina Fusco on July 10, 1931. Mary is survived by her son Ron (Val) Gentile of Raleigh NC and daughter Carole Gentile Odom of St. Clair Shores. She was the proud grandmother of Chad (Shannon) Odom of St. Clair Shores, Kristen (Pattie) Gentile of Charleston SC and Tony (Lauren) Gentile of Raleigh NC and the future great grandmother of Baby G. She is also survived by her sisters, Yolanda Centurione and Angie Otto, and many nephews and nieces. She is pre-deceased by parents and brothers, Edward Fusco and Michael Fusco.
A long-time heart transplant survivor, Mary is thankful to the caring providers at Henry Ford Hospital.
Mary will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 5, at 11 AM at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery at 621 W. Long Lake Road in Troy Michigan. In lieu of flowers, contribution memorials may be made to the Henry Ford Hospital Transplant Institute (ATTN: Director of Transplant Institute CFP 222; 2799 West Grand Blvd., Detroit MI 48202) or to the charity of your choice.
