

Raymond Stanley Kapcia, age 98, passed away on March 26, 2026, He was born on October 15, 1927, to parents Frank and Martha Kapcia. Raymond will be remembered as an adventurous, beloved, brave, devoted, and kind-hearted man whose steady presence and deep love for family shaped the lives of all who knew him.
In Raymond’s early years, he served in the United States Marine Corp. Upon returning home, he became a Detroit Firefighter, dedicating himself to the safety and well-being of others with the same courage and commitment that defined his life.
Raymond was married to the love of his life for 57 years, Virginia Kapcia. Loving father to Barbara Kapcia, Mark (Kathleen) Kapcia, and Matthew Kapcia. Cherished grandfather to Kari (Michael) Arnone and Chris Kapcia, and the great-grandfather to Christopher and McKenna Arnone. Raymond was the brother-in-law to Patricia Kapcia and Judie Kapcia. Raymond was preceded in death by his his wife, daughter Barbara Kapcia, and two brothers Norman Kapcia and James Kapcia.
Raymond built his family home, a lasting reflection of his devotion and care. He loved to travel with his wife, camping all over the U.S. He also loved to play all sorts of card games, fishing, and—most of all—spending time with family and friends.
Raymond was involved in the Fire Fighter & Police Men's auxiliary, V.F.W., Eagles Club, American Legion, and his beloved parish of St. Roch in Caseville, Michigan. His life was marked by service, loyalty, and quiet strength, and he will be deeply missed.
Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 10:00 am (gathering at 9:00 am), at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church 22412 Overlake Street, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48080.
