Richard Francis Wheeler, age 71, passed away on June 12, 2024. He was born on October 4, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to his late parents Nobil and Marie Wheeler. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan; loving children: Leslie (Joseph) Valenti, Miki (Kevin) Dunbar; dear grandchildren: Sophia, Ethan, Simone, Dylan; and siblings: the late Dona (Haven) Hull, Elizabeth (late Dave) Crowley, and Robert (Karen) Wheeler. In his spare time, Rick enjoyed fine cuisine, discussing history, watching birds and growing his flower and vegetable gardens. He loved to cook and barbeque and was known for his famous ribs, salsa, and spaghetti sauce. Rick was a hilarious and amusing guy who brought joy and laughter into every day. He was an all-around family man that loved his family immensely. Rick was truly loved by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. (Instate 9:30 a.m.) at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake, St. Clair Shores.
