Rose Ivo Janevic passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the age of 95. Rose was born in Detroit on November 3, 1929, the youngest child of Vidasava and Ivo Janjevic, and sister of Thomas (1926-2005) and Diana (1923-2019).
Rose was a longtime member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in St. Clair Shores. She had a career in retail fashion that spanned 70 years. She started as a salesclerk at Neisner Brothers when she was 16. Her organizational skills and knack for numbers soon got her promoted to floorwalker and then store manager. She later managed Marianne’s women’s fashion stores for almost 25 years at various locations in Detroit and at Eastland Mall. She retired at age 86 after working for another 27 years at Connie’s Children’s Shop in St. Clair Shores, a job she loved and where she felt like she was part of a family. Rose was a sweet and caring individual who always saw the good in people.
She was a devoted daughter who was the main caregiver for both of her parents in their old age. She was an adored aunt who doted on her nieces, nephew, and great-nieces and great-nephews, and never forgot a birthday. She was a treasured friend to many, and some of her happiest memories were of spending time with friends: traveling on bus tours, dining out, shopping, and other adventures.
She is affectionately remembered by her nieces and nephew Mary (Bob), Teresa (Hernan), John (Tracy), and great nieces/nephews Ben, Sophia, Simon, Max, Aurora, and Anka, along with many friends and members of the Assumption community.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11 am, with visitation from 10-11 am, at Kaul Funeral Home 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Rose will be laid to rest privately at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
