Victoria “Vicky” Lynn Walch, age 73, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, passed away on July 16, 2025, in Royal Oak, Michigan. She was born on October 3, 1951, to her proud parents, Vincent Lyle and Elizabeth (Maddox) Walch.
Vicky was a kindhearted, fun-loving, and generous woman with a strong mind and an even stronger spirit. She had a unique gift for seeing the potential in others and always believed in the goodness of people. Her work reflected her deep compassion and unwavering belief in human potential.
Vicky’s years in nursing and healthcare education defined her deep compassion for care. She dedicated herself to helping others heal, not only through her clinical work but also by mentoring and educating future healthcare professionals. Her commitment to service and education left a lasting impact on countless lives and reflected her belief in the power of kindness, knowledge, and human connection.
Her passion for DIY projects was more than just a hobby—it was a reflection of her creativity and vibrant spirit. Though she loved to travel, in later years her illness kept her from visiting many of the exciting places she dreamed of. Still, she found joy in the everyday and especially in the holidays.
Christmas was her favorite time of year. She would spend months planning and shopping for gifts, making sure each one was thoughtful and personal. Her love for her family was her guiding light. She cherished her time with them, often spending hours texting her sisters and staying connected to their daily lives.
Vicky’s legacy is one of love, creativity, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her wife of 46 years, Cheryl Herba, and her beloved granddaughter-in-love, E’Marie Neveah Ross-Cummings.
She is also survived by her loving sisters: Ann (Ron) Curtis, Elizabeth (Dennis) Sweet, Margaret (Michel) Vitiello, Ruth (Patrick) Erne, Barbara (Roy) Harrison, and Eileen (Tony) Swierkosz; nine nephews, ten nieces, twelve great-nephews, and three great-nieces.
