Erika Koritar

She passed away, peacefully in her sleep, during the early morning on February 14th, 2026. She was reunited with her late husband and beloved soul mate, Josef Schleider on Valentine's Day. She was the daughter of the late Zoltan Koritar and the late Ilona Ill. She is survived by her children Cynthia (Luc), Amanda, Erick and her grandchildren Michael , Krysta (Steven), Amber, and Logan, as well as her brothers Zoltan (Margit), and Endre(Danielle), brother-in-law Peter, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada, the United States and Europe.

Born in Hungary, she came to Canada as a refugee and adopted the country as her own. She met and married the love of her life, started a family, and was dedicated to them until the very end. Family was everything to her. She kept in contact with all her relatives around the world. She celebrated every event with everyone because life was worth celebrating. She was there to listen, and hold us for every loss, because that’s who she was. To her, being there, was what a friend, sister, aunt, cousin, mother, and grandmother does.

Her love and dedication to children pulled her towards a career in early childhood education and a leader in Children's Liturgy. She was well known and loved by her community and friends. She will be greatly missed.
