

Robert (“Bob”) William Boucke was born July 13, 1918 in San Francisco to Ulrich B. Boucke and Fannie Hortenstein Boucke of Pleasanton. Bob attended Ulysses Grant School and Galileo High School in San Francisco. He graduated in 1940 with a B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley. As an undergraduate at UCB, he was a member of the fraternity Phi Gamma Delta (“FIJI”), a football manager in upper division years, and a member of Winged Helmut and Skull & Keys honor societies.
He married Patricia Dondero of Oakland in 1941 in the St. Clements Episcopal Church in Berkeley. They were married for 64 loving years until Pat died in 2005. Bob never remarried.
During World War II he held the rank of Major in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps. He had duty on Angel Island; in San Pedro, California; and in Tacoma, Washington prior to overseas service in the Pacific arena for over three years. As a general contractor, he built business and residential properties in Oakland and Piedmont from 1950 to 1975. He was a member of Richmond and Claremont Country Clubs and, after moving to St. Helena in 1975, of Meadowood. More recently he was an active participant in the Rianda House of St. Helena as Domino Chairman.
On December 29, 2011 and at the age of 93 ½ years, Bob died peacefully at home with family members present. There will be no memorial service per his request.
He is survived by son Steven Robert Boucke of Livermore and daughter Laurie Boucke of Lafayette, Colorado; his six grandchildren Michael, Allison, Rick, Garrett, Rob and David; and his four great grandchildren Kendall, Kevin, Mason and Lucas.
