

Tony led a long and courageous battle with cancer, defying all odds.
Tony was the loving husband to Susanna Murray for 44 years.
He was the cherished father to his children Manuela, Tony, Patricia and their spouses, John Pivnicki, Lysel Andoy and David Bee; his step children Pierre (Lyne Mathieu) and Nathalie (Fernando Perez) Svartman; doting grandfather to his grandchildren; David (Stephanie) and Daniel (Christine) Soares; Dimitri, Anastasia, and Kristina (Olivier) Pivnicki; James and Jennifer Bee; step grandchildren Nicolas and Isabelle Svartman, Jean- Michel Niron, Dhansyl and Jade (Estephanie) Gonzales; by his great grandchildren Elizabeth, John and Avery.
Tony was born in Nordeste on the Island of São Miguel in the Azores, the eldest of three children (Esperança and João). As a young man, he joined the navy. He became a radio communication technician and was responsible for putting up radio towers in the Azores. He emigrated to Canada in late 1965 where he continued his career in telecommunications. Tony’s family followed him to Canada in early in 1966.
Tony was a bon vivant with a real love of life and a sense of humour. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, RV-ing and ocean cruising. Susan and Tony together visited the world from Alaska to the Panama Canal. Tony was a ham radio operator and could fix almost anything, including electronic devices that were very dear to him even in his later years. In his retirement he took up photography and started making his own computers.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 19th, 2025 at 12:30-14:30 followed by the funeral service at 14:30. Both will take place at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home in St. Lambert.
