Bruno Cellere

Our family is heartbroken to announce that Bruno Cellere left us on February 27, 2026. He was a devoted husband of 60 years to Bruna, adored father of Roberto, Barbara (Mike), and Riccardo (Carolyn), and cherished Nonno to Matthew, Eric, Rocco, and Corrina. He will be missed by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and friends. Bruno is predeceased by his brothers Antonio and Giuseppe and sister-in-law Argentina.

Bruno was born in Piovene-Rocchette, northern Italy, during the Second World War. He grew up skiing in Asiago, swimming in the Astico river, and picking mushrooms on Monte Summano. As a child, he learned from his Nonna to make gnocchi, a tradition he would one day replicate with his own grandchildren. In 1966, Bruno and Bruna set off for adventure in Canada, where he enjoyed a long and successful career as a tool and die maker. His technical skill and work ethic were so sought after that he was frequently asked to travel to train others.

Throughout his life, Bruno had the opportunity to visit places like Tunisia, Venezuela, Israel, and Alaska. He and Bruna even completed the Camino de Compostela in Spain. He was especially at home around mountains, and some of his fondest memories were of camping with his family in the Adirondacks.

Bruno was honest, reliable, practical, quick-thinking, and able to fix anything. In his professional life as well as at home, he led by example. He stayed sharp to the end despite considerable physical challenges, doing crossword puzzles and sudoku, gardening, cooking, making wine, watching sports, and being with his family.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Parish, 125 Grove Street, Greenfield Park, Quebec, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11:00 am. The family will be at St. Mary’s from 10:00 am onward. No visitation will be held.

La nostra famiglia è addolorata nell'annunciare che Bruno Cellere ci ha lasciato il 27 febbraio 2026. È stato l'amato marito di Bruna per 60 anni, l'adorato padre di Roberto, Barbara (Mike) e Riccardo (Carolyn) e l'amato Nonno di Matthew, Eric, Rocco e Corrina. Mancherà alle cognate e ai cognati, ai nipoti e agli amici. Bruno è stato preceduto nella morte dai fratelli Antonio e Giuseppe e dalla cognata Argentina.

Bruno è nato a Piovene-Rocchette, nel nord Italia, durante la seconda guerra mondiale. È cresciuto sciando ad Asiago, nuotando nel fiume Astico e raccogliendo funghi sul Monte Summano. Da bambino imparò dalla nonna,a preparare gli gnocchi, una tradizione che un giorno avrebbe replicato con i suoi nipoti. Nel 1966 Bruno e Bruna partirono per un'avventura in Canada, dove lui intraprese una lunga e brillante carriera come costruttore di utensili e stampi. Le sue capacità tecniche e la sua etica del lavoro erano così ricercate che gli veniva spesso chiesto di viaggiare per formare altri.

Nel corso della sua vita, Bruno ha avuto l'opportunità di visitare luoghi come Tunisia, Venezuela, Israele e Alaska. Lui e Bruna completarono addirittura il Cammino di Compostela in Spagna. Si sentiva particolarmente a suo agio in montagna e alcuni dei suoi ricordi più belli sono legati al campeggio con la sua famiglia negli Adirondack.

Bruno era onesto, affidabile, pratico, veloce nel pensare e capace di risolvere qualsiasi cosa (problem solver). Nella sua vita professionale così come a casa, ha dato l'esempio. È rimasto sveglio fino alla fine. nonostante le notevoli difficoltà fisiche, facendo cruciverba e sudoku, facendo giardinaggio, cucinando, producendo vino, guardando sport e stando con la sua famiglia.

La messa funebre verrà celebrata presso la parrocchia di St. Mary, 125 Grove Street, Greenfield Park, Quebec, martedì 24 marzo 2026 alle ore 11:00. Non si terranno visite.
