Mr. Carlyle P. Giddings

Carlyle Giddings was born in Tunapuna, Trinidad and Tobago on July 28 1946 to Edith Hoith and Louis Giddings. He was the youngest of 4 children, following Louis Jr, Elenor and Marilyn. As a young boy around the age of 9, Carlyle moved to Brooklyn, New York with his family where he resided until he was 21. In 1967 Carl would welcome his first child, Sienna. In 1968, he moved to Montreal, Canada where he would grow and nurture his family and career and spend the rest of his days.

Carlyle was married to Paulette Giddings in 1968 and welcomed their first Son Halisi in 1969. Over the next few years they would welcome sons Kanu and Rahsaan and in 1977 the birth of Osei would complete their tribe. Carl would start Van Rite movers in the 80s and never look back. Carl moved thousands of people over the next 40 years, Family, Friends and strangers alike. In 1988 Carl welcomed his first grandchild Jasmine, and in 2015 his first great grandchild Onyx.

Carlyle loved to dance, sing, play Chess, but most of all watch his family grow and prosper.

Today he leaves behind his Wife Paulette, his sister Marilyn, 5 Children Sienna, Halisi, Kanu, Rahsaan and Osei, 12 Grandchildren Jasmine, Nilajah, Kyle, Adia, Amaiyah, Azeriah, Kadeem, Tristan, Elisha, Dominique, Alexa and Jessie, and Great Grandchildren Onyx, Jett, Aura and one more baby girl on the way. He also leaves behind countless nieces and nephews, friends who have become family and many other loved ones who have been a part of his journey.

Carlyle was a Father, Friend and support to many and has been a blessing to so many during his time with us.

We wish that he may rest in eternal peace.
