Born in Cork, Ireland, Ellen’s journey—shared hand-in-hand with her beloved husband Patrick—carried them across continents. From Birmingham, England to Seattle, Washington, and finally to Greenfield Park, Quebec, their life together was filled with family, faith, and community.
Ellen was the devoted wife of the late Patrick Boyle and the cherished mother of Dominic (Katya), Nicholas (Holly), Hugh (Kristin), Colm (Nadia), and Marie-Claire (Tony). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Alexandra, Georgina, Ainhoa, Desmond, Emma, William, James, Quinlan, Fiona, Amanda, Patrick, and Elisabeth.
She was predeceased by her beloved siblings—Sheila, Jimmy, and May—whom she remembered with deep affection. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law who cherished her dearly.
A passionate pillar of her community, Ellen was deeply involved in the life of St. Mary’s Church, especially the choir and H.O.P.E, The Housewives Club, and the Greenfield Park community. For years, she nurtured young minds as a nursery schoolteacher in the Lutheran Church basement and welcomed many into her heart and home—earning the loving title of second mother, affectionately known as Momma Boyle.
Ellen’s love of music was boundless. Her voice lifted spirits and brought joy to many. She will be remembered not only for her generosity and kindness but for the unforgettable beauty of her song.
