She now joins in the afterlife her husband George, daughter Catherine, son-in-law Mike Barber, her parents, all of her siblings, and many, many friends.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Arlene (Mike Barber), son Martin (Colleen O’Reilly), son-in-law Stephen Ross (Catherine), seven grandchildren: Philip Ross (Tessy), Jennifer Ross, Kevin Barber (Katrina), Lori Barber (Omar), Craig Barber (Ashtin), Ryan Baird (Alex, Zac), and Shawn Baird; and 5 great-grandchildren: Ethan, Nicola, Finlay, Hailey, and George.
She was born on a September day in Manitoba, to loving parents Anna Kinsel, and Jacob Weber, the youngest of seven children. She grew up in a loving family during the depression, and WW2 era, spent time in England after the war, and returned to live in Toronto, where she met George Baird. They married in 1953, where they had their three children, moved to Montreal in 1960, where she remained while nurturing the children and family, and later working as an office worker until retirement. She was married for 53 years up until George’s passing in 2006. They cared for and loved many foster children, and sponsored a student from Thailand while they went to school here in Quebec. She was part of the United Church Women’s group for many years. George’s and her doors were always open to many friends and family. She was a wonderful role model for all she touched.
