On this day of remembering a loved one, I am grateful for having had the opportunity to experience the joy, kindness, and laughter with such a kind and funny man, through my special friendship with his daughter, Jacqueline! Papa Joe and his family have always held a special place in my heart, and will, forever. Thank you for the love and laughter.

What a wonderful time Joyce Caron & I, Andrea Main enjoyed with Joe on his very important Birthday.  We will miss him more than anyone can know.

JOSEPH RODGER

I had the pleasure of working with Joe for over 20 years with the Volunteer Drivers’ and Senior Lunch programs which were started in 1993 for the Members of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 94, Greenfield  Park, Quebec.
He was the Chairman and Co-ordinator for the Drivers Program and was highly regarded by all the drivers.
For the Senior Lunch Program, he arrived at the branch at 8:00 A.M. and began his routine of helping Comrade Joyce Caron to set the tables and start the coffee and tea.  
He was the go to person to ask for another cup of tea and he would roam the tables engaging the patrons in conversation, always with a smile.  
Joe was instrumental in singing God Save the Queen at the Remembrance Suppers and Cenotaph ceremonies at the end of each service for so many years.
For me, I always considered  him  a very kind, gentle and caring person.
It was an honour for me to have known and worked with him.
My sincerest  sympathies to his family.  They have lost a wonderful link in their families.

I was saddened to hear of Joe's passing.  We enjoyed numerous years serving lunches/tea at Greenfield Park Legion.
Joe invited me many times to accompany him to the Lyric Theatre summer and winter concerts in Montreal.
Good memories of good times together.

More often than not we don't realize or understand the value and importance of a moment, then one day we don't have those moment anymore. Eventually we understand it was the last time we'll have those moments and everything turns into memories.....Thank you Papa for all of the wonderful moments that turned into cherished memories :) I love you

This is the last picture I have with Papa Joe and it was a happy day! He was wee in stature but a giant personality in every room he walked into. I’m lucky to have memories of playing dominoes, listening to stories, watch his methodical way of eating, and countless hours and hours and HOURS of just laughing with my papa. A void is felt with his absence, but so grateful for the memories I have to remember whenever I need to smile about him being reunited with his sweetheart and not here with us anymore. Till we meet again papa! ❤️

My dear Carol and Rick,
My condolences on the loss of one so loved and cared for.  Take comfort in times shared and the celebration of memories filed. May you find peace in the tranquil moments and your  gifts of  caring and loving.  I know there is a certain calm that comes from traveling with a loved one until the earthly pilgrimage is complete and an emptiness that one feels when they depart. However, we must rejoice for his was a life well lived. May  you meet the days ahead in hope and joyful expectation of an eternal life for the one you loved so dearly.   We pray for the repose of his soul and that sorrow will be lifted from your minds and hearts.

Jackie, I m so sorry to hear THIS about your dad. Sending hugs and prayers to all the family and friends.  God BLESS his SOUL in JESUS name Amen. 

I could not have asked for a better father-in-law. He loved his family, loved his homeland (Scotland) loved his wife, Betty who proceeded him in death by 29 years. In the dictionary under gentlemen they could have his picture there.  We can’t take our money with us, but I’m certain we take our personally. I would bet he is now entertaining the angel’s in heaven.
