Richard Roy

He is survived by his sister Pauline, his sons David (Laura), Jean (Kadeja), and Daniel (Stephanie), and his grandchildren Tristan, Neve, Alexia, and Kieran.

Richard was a born and raised Montrealer who spent his early years growing up in Chambly and the East End of Montreal with his mother Delia, father Arthur, and his beloved sisters Pauline and Ginette. It was in 1972 that Richard married the love of his life Sandra (Sandy) Reilly after first meeting her while he was in her care as an emergency room nurse at the Montreal General Hospital. Richard and Sandy shared a life for over 40 years, creating a home together and raising three beautiful boys in Saint-Lambert.

Richard was a policeman by trade, a loyal husband by love, and a wonderful father by nature. He made great friends along the way golfing, fishing, and playing cards. He worked his way into the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Richard will be laid to rest at the Saint-Lambert Cemetery next to the love of his life Sandy, his mother, father, and sister Ginette.

On Sunday, July 7th, 2024, visitation will occur from 10 am to 1 pm followed by a funeral service at 2 pm ET at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home in Saint-Lambert. The family asks that instead of flowers, donations be made to The Michael J Fox Foundation or Parkinson's Canada in Richard's memory.
