Urban Paul Harney

Urban passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family March 13, 2023, in Candiac, QC at the age of 80. Urban is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Joyce (nee Johnstone). His four children, Darren (Marlene), Derrek (Heidi), Dana (Luc), Daniel (Michelle). He was also survived by his sisters Lorraine, Linda, Shirley and his brother Michael. He will deeply be missed by his eleven grandchildren as well as many relatives and friends. Urban is predeceased by his parents John and Bernadette, his sisters Barbara, Doreen, Rose Anne and his brother John. Urban was lovingly known as “Pop” to his grandchildren. He lived and enjoyed one day at a time. He never lost his way or his humbleness on his journey and he always appreciated the simple things in life. His humour and wit left lasting impressions with all who knew him. He enjoyed the good company of family and friends both near and far. Urban was born in Verdun and grew up in Laflèche. He attended Montebello Catholic school and graduated from D’Arcy McGee in 1957. Urban worked for CN until forming his own business in 1975, he retired in 2019. Urban spent his summers golfing with friends and his winters were spent in Mexico on the beach and enjoying sunsets with his wife. We invite you to celebrate Urban’s life on Thursday the 6th of April 2023, at Collins Clarke MacGillvray White, Dignity memorial, 307 Riverside, Saint Lambert QC J4P 1A7, in the chapel. The family will receive visitation from 1:30 to 2:15 a memorial service will follow. Details of the reception will be provided at the service.
