Passed away suddenly at Delmar Gardens West Nursing Facility on Monday, July 14, 2014, where he was expertly cared for by the staff for more than 5 years. Born in New York on February 27, 1924, Abe was a WWII Purple Heart and POW Veterans who loved to dance, play checkers and was an avid sports fan, especially St. Louis Baseball Cardinals.
He is survived by his son, Dennis Persky (Hilary); daughter, Barbara Balmuth (Bruce); sister, Anne Goodman; 6 grandchildren, Todd, Chad, Jeff, Lori, Lily and Claudia, their spouses, partners and friends and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service Thursday, July 17, 11:00 am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan, Jefferson Barracks, MO 63125. Memorial contributions preferred to Jewish Federation of St. Louis, 12 Millstone Campus (63146).
