Andy is survived by his wife, Louise Edwards and daughter Elyiah, mother Lainie Neiman, father Ben Neiman (Sandi) and siblings Emily Asher Abramson (Simon) and David Neiman (fiance Amanda Lavin) and Lainie’s long time partner (and CRC member) Dick Goldberg. Andy was a cherished and beloved uncle.
Andy was an accomplished actor, singer and teacher. His most notable performances included Hermann Hesse’s Siddartha, several Shakespeare roles and as Mitch Albom in Tuesdays with Morrie at the JCC’s New Jewish Theatre. He was always quick to offer his acting and musical talents for the CRC Purim Spiel.
Andy Neiman was the very first official Bar Mitzvah at CRC when services were held
at the Washington University Hillel House.
Since his death was announced last week, thousands of messages from all corners of the country have been posted on social media highlighting Andy’s talent and warmth, along with stories of deep connections.
Contributions in Andy’s memory can be made to NAMI-St. Louis (National Alliance on Mental Illness) or St. Louis Shakespeare Festival.
