Tony was a beloved uncle to my brothers and I and was also my godfather. He took me to my very first Cardinals game and would often take all four of us kids for weekends at a time to give my parents a break. I have such fond memories of him taking us to parks, feeding the ducks by his old apartment, impromptu photo shoots at the studio and playing with his trains. He gave me my very first set of baseball cards and would often trade and help me build my collection and then did the same for my son when he got to be old enough. He was an amazing person. 

I am so grateful to have had Tony in my life. He is missed.


I met Tony while working on the communications team at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School. He was always a pleasure to work with and was gracious toward me as a fellow photographer. His senior portraits line the halls and are treasured by many.

When I moved on to St. Dominic High School a few years ago, I was delighted to cross paths with Tony again. One of the last times I saw him, I was actually on the other side of the camera as a cross country coach during fall sports photos. No sooner had he photographed our girls team, the skies opened and it began to pour. We all scurried inside, where he continued with our boys team photo - soaked from the rain but not missing a beat.

Any time Wagner came to campus, I looked forward to seeing Tony. I'll miss working with him and am sure many others will as well. My condolences to the family.

I've only known Tony since I moved directly across the street from him in May. However, what I have learned about him is that he was a kind and caring man! He was the first person to come over and welcome me to the neighborhood with a smile! RIH Tony, you will truly be missed! My deepest condolences to the family!

Tony was such a kind and thoughtful neighbor.  He was the first to offer help and did countless acts of kindness to make our community a better place to live.  I always felt protected knowing that Tony had an eye on things.  I always felt a little bad that Tony, and his beautifully landscaped lawn had to face my lawn, but no surprise, I would often come home from work and notice Tony had completed another act of kindness.  I loved getting to wave at him in the mornings as I was leaving for work and he was loading up his car with tools and water to take care of our neighborhood grounds.  

I will never possess Tony’s green thumb, but I promise to pay tribute to him by continuing his acts of kindness as often as I can.
