Brenda Sue Morris, 75, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved beyond measure. Our hearts were not ready to let her go, but God was ready to welcome her home. Born on March 10, 1950, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Brenda lived a life defined by endless love and unshakable strength. She was brave beyond measure, loved hard without limits, and showed up for everyone. Brenda’s spirit was unstoppable, and her words… well, let’s just say they could make a sailor proud. She tackled every challenge with courage, grace, and a little sass, giving life everything she had.
On December 31, 1966, she married Denver Morris. They were ‘Joe’ to each other, and nothing made them happier than watching a Cardinals baseball game and splitting a bucket of beer. Brenda was the heart of her family and a constant source of strength and comfort.
She leaves behind a family who adored her: her husband, Denver; her daughter, Tina Burmeister, and son-in-law, Ron; her grandchildren, Holly Vitale (with husband Michael) and Adam Burmeister (with fiancée Bex Hamblin); and her two great-granddaughters, Harper and Isabella Vitale, whose laughter and love filled her life with immeasurable happiness.
To those who knew her, Brenda was so much more than a wife, mother, grandma, and gigi; she was ‘Gma’ and a second mom to countless others, loving them as her own. She had a gift for making everyone feel special. Her hugs could heal, her laughter could light up a room, and her love knew no limits. She showed up for everyone, every time, with an open heart. And if you told her you loved her, she’d smile and say, “love you more.”
Brenda was a fighter in every sense of the word; a lung cancer survivor who faced countless health challenges with courage.
Through it all, she never lost her zest for life. Today, we imagine her breathing freely, pain-free, and sipping margaritas in heaven, just as she deserves. Her reunion there was surely filled with family, friends, beloved pets, and her great-grand pup, Charlie—tail wagging and waiting for her with love.
Her strength, kindness, and joy will forever inspire those blessed to know her. Her legacy of love and selflessness will live on in her family and friends, in every hug and every laugh. And if a few colorful words slip out along the way, well, that’s Brenda smiling down.
Until we meet again… sip those margaritas, cheer on the Cardinals, and keep heaven laughing like only you can. Love you more- always.
Brenda will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held at Hoffmeister South County Chapel on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. Trinity Cemetery.
