My wife and I are saddened to hear of Don's passing.  He was always helpful with our home projects and always quick to respond.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.  Godspeed Don.

I only knew Don for a short while but now have the pleasure of living in the house that he built.  He was a genuinely nice man and I appreciated his creativity and quality of work.

I knew something was wrong when I quit getting his numerous funny emails. I can't believe Don isn't going to be part of my life anymore. He was one of the most generous men I've ever know, always willing to give of his time and many talents. You are blessed to be with the Lord, Don. See you some time, when it's my time.

I just heard of Don's sudden passing.  He was a good and generous man.  He was loved and admired by the wide circle of people he touched during his life. Don will be missed by all.

Our family was saddened to hear of Don's passing. He was always such a joy to work with and to know.  Don was such a good man who always had something kind to say. He has worked with our family on quite a few home projects over the past five years - we will miss him.  Our prayers and sympathy are with you all.

I have known Don since 1965 when we were students at Jefferson College in Hillsboro MO. He lived with my family in Hillsboro until he entered the Army.  We were again students together at SEMO and he was in my wedding party in 1971.  He was a great person and I will miss him a lot.

Thank you for your gift of lighthearted humor and good cheer. On one of the hikes I had never laughed so much on a hike before. You will be missed.

Don you will be missed! You were a funny guy who was always there to lend a helping hand and tell a quirky joke. You were kind to everyone and will be deeply missed in SALSA. Thank you for leading the way on those trails when I did not have a clue where I was going.

My condolences to the family. I will miss Don at the dances, picnics, and hikes. We had several hardware store meetup together too.
It was good times and thanks for that.

Thank you, Don, for the time we spent together.  We helped each other through some tough times in 2005-6.  I was always impressed by your willingness to take on the toughest jobs, even though you had never done them before.  When my daughter was struggling to maintain her old house, I said several times, "This looks like a job for Don."  (Nobody else would do it.)  You came through every time and never charged enough for your labor.  Your bad puns drove me crazy, but I'll always think of you whenever I hear one.

Don was my best friend. We've knew each other for many years. We met almost every week for dinner and shared many a bad joke, and at the same time could discuss the most pressing issues of our lives.His company will be deeply missed.

Don helped my family in so many ways. When he found out I had problems with a home improvement provider, and lost a lot of money, he offered to do a ton of work for me at a song. Thanks to Don, my kids were able to have their sleepovers in a lovely, finished basement, instead of crowding in their tiny bedrooms. Thanks to Don, many everyday repairs that would have set me back financially were done affordably and reliably. And thanks to Don, my home became more fun. He built my bocce court! He'd never done anything like that before, and spent many weeks researching the best materials, layout, and construction. Once it was built, we began having regular gatherings around it. At the last one he attended, we were standing in the sun watching our friends playing, and I said to him, "This is a dream come true!" He replied, that was why he did this work. You have to respect and admire that generosity.

A couple of weeks ago, Don and I were emailing one another about yet another home maintenance issue he was helping me with, and I shared with him some memories I had about my Dad, who passed away when I was a kid. Don replied, "Once I heard that the purpose of memories is to provide roses for us when we are in winter on our journey back home." You're home now, Don. Rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to all of Don's family and friends.  I'll remember some of our long hikes with the West County Singles Group, the witty banter and laughs.  May God bless us all.

Don was a good person who liked helping others. I shall miss his humor and especially his puns. I shall always think of him when grooming the bocce court he built for Carol. It was his last big project and I'm sad he didn't have the chance to play more.
