Edward Milton Delaney, age 77, of Eureka, Missouri passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025.He was born in St. Louis, Mo on September 18, 1947 to the late Curtis and Betty (nee Snell) Delaney; beloved husband of the late Beverly A. Delaney (nee Smith); loving father of Edward (Amy) Delaney II and Kathleen Gittemeier; loving grandfather of Eric Delaney, Kayla Zeisler, Brandon Donahue, Brady Donahue, Gavin Gittemeier and the late Dillon Gittemeier; great grandfather of Colton Zeisler; dear brother of Linda (and the late Larry) Hayes; dear uncle and friend to many.
Edward honorably served the City of St. Louis as a Police Officer for 37 years. He was assigned to the 5th District, the Mounted Patrol Unit and the 7th District. He enjoyed trout fishing, especially with his grandfather, Elmer Snell. After retiring, many of times he could be found with his best friends, Mike Mosier and Jim Zaricor. His wife and he enjoyed traveling the country in their RV. He was a member of the Mason's and Scottish Rite, and was a Past Worshipful Master of Ferguson Lodge # 542 AF & AM.
A visitation for Edward will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. Funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, September 13, 2025 ,11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.
Interment Mount Hope Cemetery and Mausoleum.
