Born and raised in St. Louis, Jim was a master mechanic. He devoted his life to hard work and the passions that defined him. He enjoyed a long career with Union Electric, where he was known for his skills and steady presence. Beyond his work, Jim gave his time to projects honoring veterans and preserving their stories through memorial initiatives, an effort he was deeply proud to support. Through his involvement with the Rollo-Calcaterra American Legion Post 15, Jim supported the creation of the World War I Court of Honor Memorial, located at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Jim had a lifelong love of cars, a passion that shaped much of his life. His skill and creativity led him and a team of friends to build a Bonneville race car that earned recognition in Hot Rod magazine, an achievement that reflected both his talent and determination to pursue what he loved. Racing that roadster was a highlight of Jim’s life.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Laura Minnick (Drew) and Barbara Faszl (Joe), grandchildren Joshua Minnick, Adam Faszl, and Alyssa Faszl, great grandchild, Easton Boone Minnick, and his former wife, Connie Restelli, who remained a part of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adele and Egidio Restelli, his brother Carlos Restellil, and his sister Rosemarie Restelli.
The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
