Frank Scott Rufle passed away on Sunday, July 22 at 12:01 AM, at DePaul Hospital. Frank was the dear son of and Catherine and Wayne Rufle (deceased), and dear brother of John Rufle (deceased). Frank is survived by his dear wife, Katherine Ann Rufle, his sister-in-law Marianne Rufle, and his wife’s siblings: Jennifer J. Barnard, Sandra M. Reno, Mary L. Sweetin and John D. Lucas. Frank was a loving Uncle to his nieces and nephews: Katherine J. Lucas, Krystal D. Matheny, Richard Barnard, Jr., Nicole E. Keller, Michael A. Reno, Sarah K. Reno, Justin L. Sweetin, Spencer L. Sweetin, Jordyn K. Lucas, Dana E. Lucas, Isabella M. Lucas and Anthony Canestrini. He was a loving Great Uncle to Haley Matheny, Natalie Matheny, Jason Matheny, Levi Keller, Max Keller and Fiona Keller.
Frank grew up in South St. Louis County, the son of Catherine and Wayne Rufle, whom he loved fiercely. He had one brother, John (sometimes referred to as “Butch”), who tragically died at the age of 21 due to a sudden illness. As his parents aged, Frank was a constant source of love, support and care for his elderly parents. He attended Hancock High School where he was active on the swim team. Frank continued to enjoy the water throughout his life as an avid boatsman and lover of water skiing. He lived a full and active life; he loved shooting pool, playing darts, and bowling. Frank was even on Bowling for Dollars back in the day. His main sport was golf. Frank spent many an hour on the green with his buddies, enjoying the game and the camaraderie. He worked in auto sales for the past 40 years, and was nominated the Top Used Car Salesman many times. Frank was most recently employed at Don Brown Chevrolet, where he had many dear friends. A devoted family man and a true and loyal friend to many, Frank was most notably a loving husband to Katherine Ann Rufle, who he was happily married to for over 41 years. Their love has been an inspiration for us all. Frank Rufle had a deep and abiding faith in God that sustained him. He demonstrated his religious beliefs daily by his amiable temperament and generous actions. He will be sorely missed.
