George Leon Wright

In loving memory of George Leon Wright, aged 79, who peacefully passed away on August 19, 2023, in St. Louis, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Dorothy (nee Huddleston) Wright, his wife, Janice, as well as his sister, Karen Robinette. George is survived by his devoted children; Victoria Wright, Christopher (Kimberly) Wright, Susanne (Ryan) Boehm, and Stephanie (Patrick) O’Keefe. He leaves behind a legacy as a cherished grandfather to Jacob Wright, Alexis and Audrey Boehm, Kyle (Brittany) O’Keefe, Kendall O’Keefe, and one great grandson, Jameson O’Keefe. George also leaves behind his brother-in-law, David Robinette. He was a loving uncle to DeAnna (Paul) Coffman, and her children; Brendan DeTore and Ava Coffman.

George was an avid supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and took great joy in watching their games. He had a passion for yard work, genealogy research, and simply sitting on the couch, finding contentment in life’s simple pleasures. George’s dedication to his family was unparalleled, and his love for his grandchildren was evident in all he did. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation for George will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 28, 2023 from 9:30 AM at the same location. Following the service, George will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO where he will receive Military Honors.
