James L McCubbins

James Lester McCubbins age 73, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. Beloved husband of Donna R. McCubbins (nee Belmar); loving father of Carla (Wade Bruns) McCubbins, Marla (Dennis) Dooley and Jamie Odo. Proudest PaPa of Luke and Lia Odo and Ella, Keira and Nora Dooley.

Dear brother of David (Debra) McCubbins and Randy Eckhoff, Jim was predeceased by his cherished mother, Rena Eckhoff and siblings Mark “Skark” Eckhoff, Darrell McCubbins and Linda McCubbins. Jim was our uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Jim proudly served in the U.S. Airforce and AF Reserves, loved attending Cardinals baseball games, playing basketball and watching his beloved grandchildren’s sporting events. Although he didn’t get to travel as much as he may have liked, Jim enjoyed going to Florida to attend Cardinals Spring Training games and visiting Carla in Colorado.

As Jim was such an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, the family would appreciate attendees wearing their Cards gear to his Visitation Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10:30 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd., Lemay, MO. Interment with full military honors on same property to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
