Jamie Sue Richardson

Born in 1946 in St. Louis, Jamie received a B.A. from Allegheny College. She continued her education and received her M.A. in Social Work.

Jamie worked as a Social Worker for more than 15 years, serving a variety of populations including migrant workers, abused and neglected children, and people living with AIDS. Jamie was devoted to serving her community outside of working hours as well; she volunteered with the Democratic Caucus and the Red Cross, and participated in many walkathons.

Jamie was a passionate artist, a prolific poet, and a fearsome scrabble competitor. She took great joy in gifting her paintings to others.

Jamie is the mother and mother-in-law of Joshua Richardson (Shabnam Richardson), Jaylee Richardson and Jason Richardson (Lana Phan). She is the grandmother of Alex, Andrew, Ben, Liam, Derreck and Maia. Jamie is the sister of Cindy Fishman, Adele Schenberg and Michael Barack.

A graveside service will take place at 2 PM on Tuesday, January 31st at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Road, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions preferred to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, Iowa 50037-0839.
