Jean Comparato, age 84, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Beloved wife of Daniel Boone for 32 years and wife of the late Vince J. Comparato; loving mother of Kelle (Dennis) Dildine, Jeff (Melissa) Comparato, and Scott (Angela Reinoehl) Comparato; dear grandmother of Madison, Garrett, Maura, and Alia; dear sister of the late Judy Crawford and Frank Phelps of Boise, ID; dear daughter of the late Frank W. & Lucille (Albrecht) Phelps. Jean passed away at home surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living life to the fullest.
Jean spent her early twenties and thirties raising a family before becoming a very successful salesperson for Central Business Communications and WEW Radio. With years of experience in sales, she then became a representative for New York Life Insurance Company, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and United Health Care. Jean ended her career with an impressive list of clients, most of whom became long-term friends.
Jean enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved entertaining friends while cooking and with a glass of wine in hand. Jean was very close to her “exercise peeps” who she looked forward to doing aerobics classes with each week. She had an eye for antiques and interior design, her beautiful homes reflected those talents. Jean adored animals of all kinds. She rescued many stray cats and kittens and was generous to many animal shelters and rescue organizations. For over twenty years, Jean and Dan spent most weekends enjoying their second home in Hermann, Missouri overlooking the beautiful Gasconade River. For many of those years Jean enjoyed boating and swimming with her loved ones.
Jean will be honored in a Celebration of Life Ceremony on Saturday, June 17th at her home 2833 Watson Road from 1:00PM-5:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: The Humane Society of Missouri at www.hsmo.org
