Joseph D. Hoffman

He was married for over 49 years to his first wife and best friend, Joan Horowitz Hoffman and is survived by a daughter, Andrea Hoffman and son-in-law, Ronald Weiner of Evanston, IL, son, Benjamin Aaron Hoffman of Auckland, New Zealand, brother, Jacob Hoffman of Garnet Valley, PA and cousin, Shelton Ehrlich of Palo Alto, CA

He also had one sister, the late Libby Hoffman Meyer of University City, MO and Los Angeles, CA and many loving and attentive nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great, great nieces and nephews; he also was lucky to have some of the world's most devoted lifelong friends. Joe also had scores of distant cousins who were very close and special to him.

Joe served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a meteorologist in North Africa during WWII and reached the rank of First Lieutenant. After completing his service to our country, he graduated from Washington University with BS degrees in Industrial and Mechanical engineering and continued studying for the rest of his life. He worked in the printing and tag manufacturing industry for about 46 years.

Joe was lovingly cared for during the last years of his long illness by the world's best and most devoted care givers, Lenora Anderson, Shiree Hughes, Marie Taylor and James O'Nyles McRoberts III. A short illness, pancreatic cancer, is what ultimately ended his life.

Funeral service Tuesday, October 29th 1:30 PM at the new BERGER MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 9430 OLIVE BLVD. Visitation Tuesday, 1:00 PM. Interment B'nai Amoona Cemetery, 930 North and South Blvd.
