
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, fought a brave battle against colon cancer. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dr. Eduardo Slatopolsky, three children Diana (Ricardo Kohn), Daniel (Lucila Broide), and Andrea (Morten Olrik) and six grandchildren Shira and David Kohn, Camila and Sasha Slatopolsky, and Nicolas and Tristan Olrik.
She honored her value of Tikkun Olam (to repair the world) throughout her life. She was an early advocate of women's reproductive rights and counseled teens at Youth Emergency Services and women at Reproductive Health Services through difficult times. She read to children in St. Louis City Public Schools through the Reading is Fundamental Program. In later years with failing eye sight, she volunteered as an interpreter for Latino/Hispanic patients at “Casa de Salud”.
She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed at the Jewish Food Pantry (10950 Schuetz, Saint Louis, MO 63146) or Casa de Salud (3200 Chouteau Ave., Saint Louis, MO 63103).
Funeral service Sunday, August 19th, 3 pm at Central Reform Congregation, 5020 Waterman Blvd. at Kingshighway. Visitation at 2:30 pm at Central Reform Congregation. Interment follows at New Mt. Sinai Cemetery, 8430 Gravois.
