Elder Leroy "Sonny" Jackson, age 88, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023. He was born February 2, 1935 to Mason and Elizabeth Jackson. They have preceded him in death, as have seven of his siblings. Sonny is survived by: his beloved wife of 63 years Phyllis Dayle (nee: Whitmore); his children: Judith Ellen Howard, Jonathan Whitmore Jackson (Sarah); his grandchildren: Marcus Howard, Jonathan Kirkland Jackson, Jace Whitney Jackson, Veda James Jackson, Robbie Vayle Jackson;
three sisters and two brothers; God-children: Phyllis Holder, Priscilla Mason-VanBuren (Kenneth), Julia Temple (Brian); other relatives and friends.
Sonny proudly served in the United States Air Force, he was a Master Mason, and an Elder of The Afrikan Village and Cultural Center. He was an avid reader, and was "worldly knowledgeable". He loved Jazz music - Marvin Gaye was his favorite artist. Sonny was the well renowned family cook!
