

Linda Sue Thompson, nee Thilmany, 74, of St. Charles, MO, cherished mother of two children, Christopher Lee (Becky), Stacie Landry (Shay Landry), and stepdaughter Lydia ‘Thompson’ Gray, passed away unexpectedly at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital, St. Louis, on October 25, 2025, creating an irreplaceable absence in the family.
Linda was born in Evanston, Illinois, on April 9, 1951, at St. Francis Hospital, to Donald “Don T.” Harry Thilmany and Sally Ann Newhall. She shared fond memories of living in the big house in Evanston with her mom, dad, and extended family. Linda attended high school in St. Louis and, years later, in May 91, graduated from Lindenwood College with a master’s degree in counseling. She then found rewarding work at Options for Justice.
Linda was the proud mother of Chris and Stacie, with whom she had frequent conversations, and a fond stepmother to Lydia Grey.
Linda took great joy in her grandson, Shamus Landry/ Sanaa (wife), taking trips to the beach and museums in his earlier years. She also loved her step-grandchildren, Camden and Emmaly, whom she enjoyed spending time with at holidays and family events.
Linda is preceded in death by: John Thompson/husband; Don Thilmany/ Father; Sally Newhall/ mother; Joan Thilmany/ Stepmother; and Cathy Thilmany/ half-sister. Linda is survived by: Chris/ son; Stacie/ daughter; Shamus/ grandson; Lydia/ stepdaughter; Camden and Emmaly/ step-grandchildren; Peter Thilmany/ half-brother; Donald Thilmany (Rosemarie)/ half-brother; Mary Finnegan/ sister in law; and Julie Eise/ sister in law.

A funeral service for Linda will be held on April 10, 2026 at 10:30 am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd
St. Louis, MO 63125. A celebration of life will be held on April 11, 2026 at 1:30 pm at St. Charles County Regional Airport- SMARTT Field Commemorative Air Force Hangar 6390 Grafton Ferry Rd. Portage Des Sioux, MO 63373.
