Loretta is survived by her daughter Martha Mohan; grandchildren Amy (Mark) Spezia, Renee Mohan, Kyle (Amanda) Mohan, great grandchildren Adelynn Spezia, Brayden Spezia, Kolten Mohan and sister-in law Shirley Hilbert.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred Peithmann; parents Louis Hilbert and Lillian Hilbert; brother Arthur Hilbert and son-in-law Timothy Mohan.
Loretta was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Meridian Chapter and a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem-Mt Olive Shrine No 15. She was also was a very active member of New Covenant Methodist Church as long as she was able.
She attended Hadley Technical College where she learned to be a seamstress. She enjoyed making most of her own clothes as well as for her daughter and grandchildren.
Loretta was also a good cook. Her family favorites are assorted jello salads; gooey butter cake; baked custard; strawberry jelly and green tomato relish.
Loretta was always known for her smile, which she wore most of the time. She was always willing to help whenever she could and like be a prankster at times; especially starting rumors at work to see how they sounded when they got back to her.
Loretta worked for the rail road when she met Wilford Peithmann whom she married on May 31, 1957. Later she worked for Famous Barr in the Merchandise Control department.
A visitation for Loretta will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. A brief visitation will occur Friday, July 6, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at New Covenant United Methodist Church, 900 Bellerive Blvd,, Saint Louis, MO 63111. The funeral service will follow in the church at10:00 AM. Following the funeral interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
