Mimi was my grandmother, and though we didn’t see each other as much during my adulthood I will always love and cherish her memory. She was an amazingly talented woman, I remember being in awe of her art and art room as a child. Her work was like a cross between bakshi and Warhol. She also had a great sense of humor and adventure, qualities that seem to live on in those whose lives she was a part of.

Meryl was one of the sweetest people I had ever had the honor to call a friend.  A true friend. From the moment we met we had an instant connection.  Meryl had a way of making everyone feel so important. I will treasure the memories of our talks and our adventures. She was very special to me; I will love and miss her forever. Rest In Peace sweet Meryl.

I could not have had a Mother-In-Law better than you. You were the mother I never had. You would always remind me how much you loved your Daughter-in Law and that always warmed my heart. 
I look back to the first day I met you and remember your beauty that showed inside and out. I remember that your warmness was felt from day one. I could feel the way you were full of life and laughter. The collection of memories you shared of your worldly travels and your quick humor always entertained me and made me smile. Your laugh and love of humor was the best.  You have traveled many miles through life and did so with such energy and grace. I will miss you very much.  I love you dearly and rest in loving peace dearest one.

Growing up next door in Valdosta,
I felt like an another child of Aunt Meryl’s. I’d just waltz on in like it was my home; sharing meals and soaking in all the music and arts that filled the home. I appreciate the love that she shared with me.

Goodbye to my Mother, Meryl Ember Melton, who passed from this world last night. 
My Mom was a Youthful, Free Spirit. 
She was Worldly and loved to travel. 
She was Quick to Laugh, Adventurous & Open-minded. 
She was Creative as an Artist/Pianist, and she loved to read. She always encouraged me in my musical/creative pursuits. 

She was very intelligent. We had long conversations on subjects of science fiction, philosophy and the Human Condition. She loved Star Trek. She loved the Beatles. She was into star-gazing and Astronomy. I spent many nights looking through her telescope in our driveway. She was more like a wise, older sister than a mother…I will miss her. When she was young, she was a dancer. She’s dancing in the stars now.
