Michael Charles Calcaterra

Mike was the beloved husband of Victoria (nee Pozzoli) Calcaterra, the loving father of Michael "Jeff" Calcaterra and Steve (Lisa) Calcaterra; devoted grandpa of Alyssa Calcaterra and great-grandpa of Jeriah; dear brother-in-law of John Pozzoli, Mary Jo (the late Kim) Lester, and Rick Powell; a dear uncle, great-uncle and a friend to many.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary (nee Aizzi) Calcaterra, and his sister, Joan Powell.

Mike proudly served our country in the United States Army, and proudly served as a police officer for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for many years until his retirement in 2006.

In his retirement, Mike enjoyed hanging out with his buddies on The Hill, and taking care of his great-grandson, Jeriah. He volunteered his time at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on the Men's Cleaning Crew.

Visitation will be Friday, October 17 from 9-10am at St. Ambrose Church, 5130 Wilson Avenue at Marconi 63110. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am. Rite of Committal with Full Military Honors will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 12:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mike's memory to the Backstoppers would be greatly appreciated by his family.
