Nancy and I went to U. City Sr. High.  I miss her a lot.  I am a Veteran and used to see her at the VA a lot.  We were in the same High School Class.  Unfortunately Nancy was the first person in my class (over 600) that passed away that I was close to!   It was a shock to read her obituary.  Sincerely,

Please accept my condolences on the loss of Nancy,  I knew her through Bais Abraham Congregation where she helped us in so many ways.  I remember the creative birthday party kiddush  she had for Gary's "special birthday."   For me, her memory will always be for a blessing

Pleaase accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Nancy.  I knew her from our days in University City Senior High School where we graduated in the Class of 1975.  I recall her as a very talented musician. I also knew her from Shaare Zedek (now Kol Rinah) where we participated in the USY Youth Group.  I will always remember her smile when we talked together after services.  She was a kind person and I will surely miss her.  May her memory always be for a blessing.

Terrible news.  I've known Nancy since kindergarten and we maintained contact all that time.  She will be missed by her many friends.

To the Benson family, i'm sorry for your loss I had the pleasure of knowing Nancy as a clerk at the St. Louis Va medical center, she was a very helpful and willing kind spirited person, always patient with others as well as my self her personality will be greatly missed so if I can I would like to say go in peace Nancy and rest well, I hope for my sake that I will see you again. I interacted with Nancy at work.  She treated everyone kindly and with dignity.  She made a difference.  I thanked her a week prior to her passing for helping the vets.  She had real concern for others and it showed.  People do not forget that.  God Bless,

I knew Nancy since I was little. She lived down the street from us in U.City on Kempland or Braddack. She was a sweetheart. She will be missed greatly. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

I first met Nancy when worked with the City of STL, and over the years she always asked about my family and would even support my daughters' fundraisers, just because. And even though she was Jewish, she always sent holiday wishes to her friends and co-workers. I would always ask her what Jewish holiday was coming so that I could wish her holiday greetings as well. :-) I will miss her wit, sense of humor and good heart. May God be with the Benson family during this time.

I have know Nancy since 1984 when I first started at the St. Louis VAMC. She was funny and kind and a bit peculiar! She sang at my wedding in 1987. She got a real kick out of that because she sang Catholic hymms I loved the way Nancy could be having a bad day but whenever she saw me she found time to ask about my family and new grandbaby! She will be forever missed. I love you Nancy. God bless Gary and the family and may his love help you through this trying time.

My sincere condolences to Nancy's family. I knew her when I worked at the V.A. and have to say that Nancy was one of the nicest and kindest souls that I have ever met. No matter how her day was going she always had a smile for me, and wanted to know how my family was. She will be greatly missed.

I met Nancy at Forest Park Community College in the lat 1980's. It was a Film Appreciation class.  Nancy was also drawing and making character's for greeting card's.  I loved the drawing's, and loved her friendship.  Later on in year's I ran into her at the VA Medical Center.  We immediately, caught up on the year's not seeing one another.. but it felt like yesterday.  Nancy suggested the VA Rabbi when my Mom was ill and dyeing.  Thank god for the Rabbi to get me through those times.  Nancy also always sent me funny jokes and always included me on all the jewish celebration's.. and holidays.  This chanukah I did not get a chanukah greeting.  I was thinking of her on Wednesday.  Thursday she passed.  This is so sad, and I feel like I lost a gifted friend.  My heart goes out to her husband and family.

My sincerest prayers are for Gary and the Benson family. Nancy was one of the finest and nicest people ever and she will be missed by many.

I can't believe the U. City class of '68 lost 2 sweet girls in a week.  I knew you well in high school and my husband was good friends with your brother, who lost his life entirely too young as well.  You are both together now and can share family and friend stories in spirit.  May you rest in peace and know you are missed by many.

Nancy and I worked together at the Saint Louis VA Medical Center.  Nancy was truly one of the kindest, most genuine women I've ever come across.  Shock and sadness just doesn't really put into words how I feel about the loss of such an amazing woman.  May your soul rest in peace, you will truly be missed.

As many of the other comments have indicated, Nancy was a special kind of person. I met Nancy at the VA a long time ago as Nancy Leon too and although I have been retired for 7 years I go back to take my neighbor to his doctor's appointments.  When I go I would often stop by and chat with Nancy.  She could make me smile and laugh every time even when she was complaining about something.  To her loved ones and to those who saw her every day and to the Vets she cared for her, loss leaves an unimaginable void.

Nancy was my sister, the late Paula Naomi Goldstein 's college roommate. Those two were fun loving and best of friends.  Nancy was one of the kindest souls, may it rest in peace.

Nancy and I worked together when she first started here at the VA. as Nancy Leon. I will have those memeories alway to treasure.  To me she was a sweet, caring and loving person. He really enjoyed the history lesson you gave him on the mural of the Black Americans in Flight & the Tuskegee Airman at the St. Louis International airport.  You truly inspired him.   Well Nancy, things will just not be the same around here but we will try to keep traditions and things running as smooth as possible. I made coffee yesterday and today. Also for the first time I ordered Chinese food Friday.

Nancy was a caring person who put others before herself and was always a help to those she encountered especially at the VA hospital where we first met her.  She and my wife used to share 'new titles to read,' etc. Our prayers are with her family.
