

Patricia Taylor "Hoppi" Hoepfner (affectionately known as "Pat with the Hat") passed on March 19, 2026, at the age of 95, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church. She is survived by: her daughters: Patti (Michael )Bitter, Kathi (the late Steve) Fanning, Norma (Jim) Massmann, Mary Helen (Larry) Hepler; her grandchildren: Laura Evans (Alex), Brian Elfrink (Maria), Tracy Meiners (Evan), Adam Bitter (Heather), Claire Slama (Brandon), Mary Thiele (Steven), Steven Fanning (Sarah), Scott Fanning, Kaitlin Bustraan, Kara Poepping, Michael Poepping (Kinsley), Ben Massmann (the late Rebekah), Nick Massmann (Stephanie), Chris Massmann (Heather), Lindsay Weber (Drew), Nick Hepler (Ivy); her 34 great-grandchildren!; and other relatives and friends.
Pat is preceded in death by: her husband L.J. Jr. Hoepfner, her parents: Clarence Taylor and Rose Shifflett (nee: Lynn), and her five siblings.
Pat was a champion table tennis player, avid tennis player, swimmer and diver. She LOVED music; played violin, piano, ukulele, and harmonica. She sang with her daughters, teaching them to sing in harmony. She was an active member of Incarnate Word for 56 years, and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Norwood Hills Country Club. Pat loved hosting parties and entertaining. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her, and will be dearly missed.
