

She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized and a faithful member of the Church of Christ.
Phedora was educated in Mississippi Public Schools and graduated high school there.
She moved to St. Louis and attended Poro Beauty College where she received her cosmetology license. Phedora was an entrepreneur. She opened her own beauty salon in the 1940s
For over 40 years worked in her own salon.
Phedora married Foster Williams (deceased) in 1930. To this union a son was born.
Phedora was fortunate to find love again after her husband’s passing and moving to St. Louis. She was joined in Holy matrimony March 10th 1963 to Herman Mitchell (deceased) and they shared a son.
She was a kind hearted, giving and faithful Christian who devoted most of her life to serving the Lord. She was a Sunday school teacher and caregiver, working in her church until her health failed.
Phedora was preceded in death by her husband (Herman Mitchell), her son (Doyle Mitchell) brothers; Roscoe Carter, Roosevelt Carter, Will Carter, and Thomas Carter
In her memory she leaves to cherish: her son, Foster Williams Jr.(Isola), loving daughter-in-law Irene(Doyle)Mitchell, six grandchildren, Christopher H. Mitchell, Paula Williams, Kim Buchanan, Gail (Craig)Buchanan-Jolley, Kimberly(Anthony)Stokes, Andre(Ilisa)Mitchell, Heather(Harvey)Brown, John S.(Calencia) Mitchell and Paul J.(Jodi)Mitchell. And a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
