Richard Fred Sambo

Richard F. Sambo, 93, of Columbia, Illinois, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church on April 29, 2026. He was born February 8, 1933 and was the husband of the late Audrey J. (nee Waller) Sambo; son of the late Carl & Olga (nee Thomas) Sambo; and brother of the late Joe O'Connell and Carl G. Sambo. Richard and Audrey were married February 23, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri at St. Boniface Parish.

Surviving are his 12 children: Karen (Harl) White, Nancy (Joe) Helle, Sue (the late Duane) Parrish, Rick (Vicky) Sambo, Jan (Gary) Michniok, Steve (the late Linda) Sambo, David (the late Dee) Sambo, Patty (Mitch) Wagner, Terry Sambo, Mary (Craig) Burgesen, Chris Stoverink, and Barbara (Danny) Ash; 27 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws June O'Connell and Linda Sambo.

Richard was a proud 70+ year member in good standing of Sheet Metal Workers Local #36, member of the Oakville Elks Lodge #2726, and 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Council #6165.
