Bob was an avid golfer and was appropriately known as “T-Shot” to his golf friends, as he could outdrive most of his competition. He gave us great pride while hitting range balls at Tower Tee in his prime. He would stop others in their tracks with a glance at the talent required to blast a ball so far it would get lost in the trees beyond 250 yards. He enjoyed hunting (mostly drinking and laughing with his buddies), fishing, going on golf trips with friends, and Cardinal baseball. He also liked rooting for whichever football team was winning that season (so long Chiefs!), tuning into his favorite show NCIS and always getting a good cry whenever watching Rudy, and, without fail, stopping to pet any dog that crossed his path.
Dad, you brought such wisdom, humor and courage to us all, and treasure each moment we had you in our lives. After overcoming a massive stroke almost 26 years ago, you set an example by beating every odd the doctors said you would not. You set them all straight with your amazing fight to get better each day. Thank you for instilling love, strength and compassion within us and reminding us of “all the moving parts” that may get in our way. We are so blessed we had the privilege to call you dad, Papa, brother, uncle and friend.
In lieu of donations, Bob’s family requests that, in his honor, you feed a scrap of food from the dinner table to your furry loved ones, God knows he certainly did.
