

Steve was a member of Teamsters Local #688. He was a loving Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and a friend to many.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Mary Ann J. (nee Hediger) Smith, along with a son, Jonathan Smith and a sister-in-law, Lesley M. Smith. He is survived by his daughter Aimee L. (Kenneth) Tieu, his son Robert T. Smith, and his grandchildren, Matthew, Emma and Avery. He also leaves behind his sisters, Margaret F. (Keith) Ptasznik, and Judith A. Smith, and a brother, Richard A. Smith, along with his nephews, Mike (Liz) Ptasznik and Kris (Cristine) Ptasznik, his nieces, Tresa (Jeremy Johnson) Ptasznik and Katie (Anthony) Puricelli. He was great uncle to Aiden Johnson, Abigail, Olivia and Luke Ptasznik.
Steve was a simple man and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially fishing with his son, John. Steve had a kind and gentle heart and was devoted to his family.
A Visitation for Steve will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. An additional visitation will occur Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Parish, 5800 Oleatha Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Immediately following the Funeral Mass, Steve will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 6901 Mackenzie Road, St. Louis, MO 63123.
