Henry Joseph Champagne Sr.

ST. MARTINVILLE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Henry Joseph Champagne, Sr., age 80, at 10:30 am Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michaels Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Monday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Tuesday until service time.

A native and resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Champagne passed away at 8:00 am on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Champagne worked as a deputy sheriff with the St. Martin Parish Sherriff’s Department for 26 years. He was known as being a hard worker. He also enjoyed doing yard work and meeting new people. He will be dearly missed by friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Picard Champagne; sons, Rocky Champagne of St. Martinville, Kenneth Champagne and wife Ramona of St. Martinville, Henry Champagne, Jr. and wife Sandy Lee of Lafayette, five brothers, three sisters, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Madeline Champagne, two brothers and grandchild, Dusty Champagne.

Pallbearers will be Cory Champagne, Cody Champagne, Joel Champagne, Johnny Champagne, David Cabral and Johnny Bergeron.
