James Brian Akers

James was born on December 8, 1941 to the late Clyde Francis Akers, Sr. and Estelle Oubre Akers and was one of four children.

James was well known in his loving home town of St. Martinville. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the history of the town and of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church.

He is survived by his sister, Audrey Akers Viator; one brother, Donald Dean Akers, Sr. and wife Shirley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Clyde F. Akers, Jr.

A memorial service will be held privately at a later date at St. Michael's Cemetery.
