Mary was baptized at Notre Dame catholic Church in St. Martinville, Louisiana, where her spiritual foundation was formed. After relocating to Houston, she met her husband, Luke Hopkins, with whom she shared her life with until his passing. She later attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, where her devotion to God continued to be a guiding force throughout her life.
Mary was known for her caring and selfless spirit, especially when it came to her siblings. She believed family should remain close and often brought everyone together, particularly during times of joy and need.
She was a loving aunt who adored all of her nieces and nephews and took great interest in their lives. Mary was always concerned about how they were doing and made sure they knew she wanted the very best for each of them, from the youngest to the oldest. She has a way of calling them out when needed and offering guidance with honesty and love. She would often say that we were like her children, and she found great delight in being surrounded by them. Being with family was her greatest joy. Mary had a true zest for life and believed that no matter the circumstances you should always take time to enjoy yourself.
She is lovingly survived by her three of her siblings, Julia Bonhomme, Eloise Lindsey and Robert Mason, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mason, Sr; her four sisters, Barbara Mason-Jones, Mable Narcisse, Nancy Lee and Rena Mason; and her beloved husband Luke Hopkins, Jr.
